Laser wavelengths have so many different applications due to their intensity and precision. This has enabled people to develop technology to safely treat cosmetic problems too. Genesis treats fine lines, wrinkles, rosacea, redness and scars effectively.
The treatment duration is short enough to perform it in a lunch break and get back to work! During the process, the upper dermis of the skin is gently heated using the laser. The heat makes the skin produce new collagen and elastin, both of which are agents that contribute to the rejuvenation of the skin.
This can reduce sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles. It has also been shown to improve the appearance of large pores, acne, uneven skin tones, redness, uneven textures, general scarring and the appearance of redness.
Genesis requires using a device that generates pulsed laser beams which can make patients feel comfortable. We use the Pastelle Q-Switched Nd: YAG Laser, which has been demonstrated to be extremely reliable in the treatment of pigmented lesions.
It can generate, high-output energy at very short intervals, which makes the experience comfortable. The Pastelle Q-Switch technology also makes sure that the risk of injury to surrounding tissues is lower and the healing time is faster. Additionally, it reduces the risks of uneven pigmentation after treatment.

When you decide to undergo Genesis and come in for your first session, your Clinician will first prepare your skin for the treatment. All your make-up and moisturizer will be removed and your face will be cleansed. No topical anaesthetic will be applied to your face, as the procedure is almost painless.
The treatment lasts about 30 minutes, during which the laser heats the skin layers from the inside, and you may feel some warmth.
After the treatment, skincare and sunscreen will be applied to your face and you will be explained how to take care of your skin. You should be able to resume regular activities immediately. Some people may sense warmth and redness that will disappear soon and will be concealed with the post-treatment products.
Genesis treatment plans are customized based on individual clients. However, in most cases, clients see the desired effects within 6 – 8 treatments.
You may need a longer plan depending on your requirements. The best results can be seen after 12 weeks.
Before you start your treatment, make sure you discuss your medical and cosmetic history with your therapist. You will have to avoid sun exposure and tanning a month before your treatment and avoid direct exposure to the sun for at least 2 weeks after.
Make sure not to irritate the skin by scrubbing it and keep it cool and avoid activities that lead to sweating. You will need to use products with SPF 30+, moisturizers, cleansers and in some cases, serums to reduce complications.
Genesis can be combined with LED Therapy to yield faster and longer-lasting results. It can accelerate healing and rejuvenation.
It can also be combined with carbon peel and chemical peels which are determined after consulting with your Clinician.
All skin types and conditions are different and require different kinds of care. It is no different with laser treatments, where one size does not fit all. Generally, darker skin types contain more melanin, which can lead to complications when using laser treatments. Recently tanned skin can also make laser treatments dangerous and hence are contraindicated. This will be discussed during your complimentary consultation.
The most important thing to ensure is your health and safety. Therefore, we advise you to come in for a consultation to decide your treatment plan. However, both men and women can undergo Genesis, and it is a very safe treatment. If you have any pre-existing health conditions, make sure you discuss this during your consultation.
